Background and Experience:
Working for the Health Service for over 20 years, Jill registered as a General Nurse, Midwife and Health Visitor and since 1996 has trained and qualified as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist.
Currently Jill works as a Counselling Psychologist with Dr Burch and Partners at the Rycote Health Centre, Thame.
Jill has considerable experience in assessing and offering psychological therapy for a variety of clients and their problems and frequently uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). This type of therapy is very helpful for a range of problems including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-esteem issues and sleep disorders.
Experience and evidence has shown that other types of therapy are also helpful and Jill can offer these at The Practice.
Integrative Approach:
As a Counselling Psychologist Jill has been trained in three separate therapeutic methods, which are combined into an integrative approach. These methods are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Counselling and Systemic Therapy.
This approach aims to take these different styles into account and find the best match for the client and their particular problems, so rather than the client fitting in with the therapists way of working the therapist fits in with the client.
