Background and Experience:
Val began her career in the Health Service as a nurse and health visitor, and after some years became a manager of community health services. Her interest in the impact of good nutrition on health was growing and she changed direction to study, and graduated as a nutritional therapist at the Centre for Nutrition Education. She brings many skills and a broad experience to her practice in nutritional therapy. She works with individuals both to prevent disease and improve symptoms and health. She works with all aspects of nutritional therapy including digestive problems (IBS, constipation, bloating, and abdominal discomfort), energy and mood problems, hormonal imbalance, food intolerance, chronic conditions and children with food and behavioural problems. Individually designed nutritional programmes are planned in partnership with the client to achieve their aims
A long career working in the Heath Service in a number of different roles bring many skills and a broad experience to Val's practice as a nutritional therapist. Her interest in the impact of nutrition on health has developed over this time.
Since qualifying two years ago, Val has been working in private practice with all aspects of nutritional therapy, including children with behavioural difficulties and adults with digestive problems, hormonal imbalance, energy and mood problems, food intolerance, long term chronic conditions, and weight management. Individually designed nutritional programmes are planned in partnership with the client to achieve their aims.
Val continues her links with the Centre for Nutrition Education, where she studied, as a part time tutor and lecturer.
Val has two daughters and lives and works in Oxfordshire, although she can often be found on the top of hills and mountains at home and abroad, on her bicycle or pursuing her love of rowing on the river Thames.
