Pilates

"Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. In order to achieve happiness, it is imperative to gain mastery of your body. If at the age of 30 you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If at 60 you are supple and strong then you are young."
Joseph Hubertus Pilates

About Pilates

This unique approach to exercise develops body awareness, improves and changes the body's postural and alignment habits and increases flexibility and ease of movement.

The core fundamentals are based upon a thorough understanding of the anatomy of the human body. Andrea uses this information to create a comprehensive exercise programme for each client with the aim of restoring a greater sense of balance. It is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors and general practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today.

Pilates helps to:

  • Increase and create a balance between strength and flexibility
  • Create an awareness of and strengthen dynamic stability
  • Improve coordination
  • Release stress
  • Improve posture
  • Reduce injury

It is beneficial for:

  • General fitness and body awareness
  • Pregnancy: Pre and post natal
  • Injury prevention
  • Remedial and rehabilitation work
  • Improvement of technique for athletes and dancers
  • The elderly
  • For children from 12 years-old

Pilates classes are offered as a one to one session, or in small classes. Classes are tailored to different skill levels to ensure that each participant receives the teaching most suited to their needs. Dates of next classes.
