Jon served nine years in the RAF Regiment and part of his remit was teaching military skills and teamwork. The military taught him to dive, ride, windsurf and ski and it was during this time that Jon developed his passion for fitness and was introduced to functional training.
He qualified as a military instructor and coach and in his final tour worked at RAF Halton with new recruits building their confidence and fitness. In particular Jon worked with teenagers that needed motivation and sympathetic guidance and brought injured trainees back into mainstream training; as one of his colleagues put it “making zeroes into heroes”.
“A confessed outdoor type Jon has trekked through the Pyrenees and East Africa and has run marathons, ultra marathons and taken part in adventure races such as Tough Guy, Tough Mudder and the Grim. When time allows Jon also takes on special action roles in film and television productions.”
Having previously worked in a London based law firm, Jon knows that free time is too precious to be wasted. As a result, his approach to training and fitness is that it has to be enjoyable, injury free, tailored to individual needs and that results have to be tangible.
Jon is a registered fitness professional and as part of the Practice team he is well placed to support the musculoskeletal practitioners in a cohesive exercise/rehabilitation program.
