Sophie is a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and has worked in mental health for over 10 years. She is very experienced in working with both young people and adults.
Sophie works with a wide range of issues including feeling down, lacking energy and motivation, negative thoughts, lack of confidence, anxiety and sleeping and eating issues, as well as depression, social anxiety, self-harm, learning difficulties, abuse, bereavement, relationship, work related issues and panic. Sophie has experience of working with professionals, addressing the balance of both personal and work commitments. She has worked with a broad range of people from all areas of life and can offer short term focused sessions that can help challenge negative thoughts and help take on impending life changes (e.g. new jobs, exams, break-ups, university) or longer-term sessions as required.
Sophie’s experience and qualifications enable her to use a number of talking therapies including CBT.
Sophie believes it can be useful to look at the impact of first relationships as this is where patterns of relating are formed. Difficulties in relationships, whether they be parents, siblings, friends or partners can have a huge impact on wellbeing.
When not helping people, she loves to spend time with her family and doing exercise in the great Oxfordshire countryside.
